The Ginger Mint Mule combines spicy ginger and cooling mint into a balanced and refreshing beverage with major herbal benefits. Not just for flavor, ginger and mint are both incredible digestive herbs that make this an excellent beverage to enjoy after a meal. For those who love the fiery kick of ginger, this may be your new favorite drink!

No need for sugary store-bought ginger ale with this mule. Instead, the infusion of fresh ginger and mint gives an incredible flavor and allows you to customize sweetness.

Ps. While we’ve crafted this as a cocktail, we love it as a mocktail too. Skipping the booze means we can drink these all day, which we’re not mad about 😉

2 teaspoons dried mint (or 1 mint tea bag)
2 sprigs of fresh mint (save some for garnish)
2-3 inches fresh ginger root
1-2 teaspoons maple syrup (or any other sweetener you like!)
Club soda
1.5 oz vodka **

** To make this cocktail a mocktail, skip the vodka- It’s incredibly good as a digestive spritzer!

First, make a strong herbal infusion with mint and ginger. Peel and grate your fresh ginger knob and add it to a heat-safe glass or small pitcher. Add in dried mint and one of the mint sprigs. Pour 6 oz of boiling water over the herbs. Muddle the fresh mint to release the oils from the leaves and let the mixture sit for 20-40 minutes. Strain infusion into a small jar. There will be extra leftover for another batch of cocktails or digestive tonics!  

Fill a glass with ice. Pour in vodka, 1 ½ oz of the ginger mint infusion (add a little more if you love the ginger kick!), and sweetener. Give it a stir and top with club soda. Garnish with a large sprig of mint and a slice of ginger.
