Hibiscus Ginger Tea Concentrate*:
1/2 cup dry hibiscus flowers
2 inch knob of ginger (peeled and sliced thinly)
3 cups boiling water
For Hibiscus Sunset (2 servings):
4 oz hibiscus ginger tea concentrate
Juice of 1 large lime
6 oz water – sparkling or still
1 Mab Stick (optional)
Optional: 2 oz clear spirits (organic vodka, gin, or blanco tequila- whatever you like!)
To make the hibiscus tea concentrate, add hibiscus tea and sliced fresh ginger into a 24 oz Mason Jar or large tea pot. Pour in 3 cups boiling water and steep for 20-30 minutes. Strain mixture through a fine-mesh sieve and set aside to cool. Add tea concentrate, lime, your Mab Stick and spirits if you’re using into a shaker or mason jar. Stir or shake until Mab Stick is completely dissolved. Pour equally into two glasses filled with ice. Top with water or seltzer and give a gentle stir. Garnish with a lime wedge and a slice of ginger if you like. Enjoy
*Note: This recipe makes quite a bit more hibiscus ginger tea concentrate than you need for two servings. It will keep up to 2 weeks in the fridge and we’re confident you’ll be happy to have a jar in the fridge to enjoy later on. You can simply add water or seltzer for a quick herbal tea refreshment!
