For many of us, the coming weeks can be the busiest of the year. With the combination of long to-do lists and the sweet promise of holiday baking ahead 😉, we thought an easy and satisfyingly light meal-in-a-blender smoothie was just the recipe we needed this week. 

This smoothie’s star is the Fuyu persimmon, which is naturally sweet and packed with nutrients such as flavonoids and vitamin c. We’ve added matcha for extra antioxidant goodness and a little caffeine kick to get you through the day! It’s mixed with some tasty (and good for you) spices and banana to keep your belly full and happy. Enjoy 🙌

Herbal Actions:
Persimmon: these brightly-hued fruits are fiber-rich and exceptionally high in carotenoids and flavonoids, antioxidants that can help fight oxidative stress. They are also rich in Vitamin C, an antioxidant that is essential for collagen production and supports immune function. 

Ginger: With over 700 individual compounds in a piece of ginger, this root is extremely high in antioxidants, an excellent digestive aid, and has been used for centuries to address inflammation.

Cinnamon: A carminative spice used around the globe for centuries and used to aid digestion. Loaded with antioxidants, it is also known to provide anti-inflammatory benefits.

Matcha Powder: Green tea is an antioxidant powerhouse. Research on green tea leaf indicates its positive effects on cardiovascular health, inflammation, skin health, and metabolism.

1 ripe Fuyu persimmon
½ ripe banana (we like frozen for smoothies)
1 cup oat milk
½ tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp ginger 
1 tsp matcha powder
2 scoops unflavored collagen powder or protein powder
1 Mab Tab (optional)

Drop all ingredients into your high powered blender and blend for about a minute or until well blended. Pour and enjoy!
