It’s officially Autumn, and If you haven’t noticed yet… pumpkin spice is trending. So why not a Pumpkin Spice Golden Milk?! Golden milk, a traditional Ayurvedic beverage has been touted for centuries for its soothing, belly friendly, and anti-inflammatory benefits. In our recipe, we’ve really kicked up the good-for-you spice with antioxidant rich golden milk ingredients of fresh ginger and turmeric root, combined with the pumpkin pie evoking classics of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. It’s warming and delish, like a drinkable hug for your belly. Enjoy!
1 cup unsweetened coconut milk (or any non-dairy milk you enjoy!)
1/2 cup water
1/2 inch knob of fresh ginger root peeled and finely grated
1 inch knob of fresh turmeric root peeled and finely grated
3-5 cardamom pods
3-4 black peppercorns
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
Honey or preferred sweetener
1 Mab Tab (optional)
Add all ingredients in a small saucepan. Stir well with a whisk and begin to heat on medium. Bring to a gentle simmer and simmer covered for 10 minutes. Strain into your favorite mug, sweeten to taste, and if you haven’t yet had your Mab Tab today, toss one in!
